I have not used my Logitech Trackball (T-BC21) for a while and found that the scrolling function was missing once plugged in. So I did what any good citizen would do… guugld it …only to find no clear answer. So here’s my quick solution and work-around.
Since there’s no scroll wheel, the scroll function is executed by two smaller buttons on the inside of the larger ones… or at least that’s how it is supposed to work, but surprise-surprise, it doesn’t.
Off to the interweb to search for a driver (ah, the good ol’days). Seems like that’s now called Setpoint.
How to setup the scroll function on your Logitech Trackball mouse (related to model T-BC21)
- Download and install Setpoint.
(Read through the install though, you don’t have to select and send your usage tracking).
Setpoint seems to be the latest Logitech Trackman Marble driver and software that support Windows and Mac OS.

2. Once installed open the program. Logitech > Mouse & Keyboard Settings.
It’s just a generic mouse driver, not specifically made for the Trackball mouse, but you can program the buttons to scroll. (For illustration purposes, I have replaced the mouse image with one of the Trackball indicating the buttons).
3. Click on the mouse functions under the “Select Button” section so select it, then while highlighted, select the required function from the “Select Task” list.
Autoscroll: turns on the scroll function which will then scroll in any direction you move the ball.
Universal Scroll: turns on the scroll function but will only scroll a line or two at a time, you will have to roll the ball again to scroll. This option is less sensitive to the ball movements.
4. Click Apply first, test the setup in a browser window. Once you’re happy, click OK.

Since you only really need one scroll option, I’ve programmed my #4 button to do something else.
